Ecos-South Korean Strain High Yielding Oak for Acorn Production
Has been one of the best acorn producers on our farm. Trees tend to fruit all along the branches and hang in great clusters in the on years. Our Ecos strain was originally collected in South Korea which has proved hardier than other sawtooth oaks able to withstand greater winter temperature fluctuations without any tip dieback. Ripening is from October to mid November. The crop is quickly consumed by deer. Trees begin bearing in 5 to 7 years once the trees reach 1 ½-2 inches in caliper. This oak grows 2 ft. or more a year with a dense symmetrical crown. Sandy soils and adaptable to alkaline or acidic conditions. Height to 60 ft.
