Larger Fruited European Strawberry- Originally Found on a Rock Strewn Peninsula Near the Ocean

Northern Star is a seed grown form of what would be considered a semi cultivated strawberry found growing untended for possibly hundreds of years. Because of its isolation, it was thought to have been growing there for hundreds of years. Some feel some strawberries outside of our normal modern day varieties were selected for larger berries long before their cultivation. Because of their winter hardiness and wild flavor, we began making some seed selections with for use as an edible ground-cover.  Both the flowers and foliage of this strain tend to be a natural dwarf and more compact than today's modern hybrids. Fruits are larger than most wild species and are 3/4 to one inch in size.  June bearing strawberry.

Plants are grown in plastic pots in an all organic soil mix.
