Leningrad is a grow out from the USDA found in this most northern city prior to the name change St. Petersburg. This vigorous selection is similar to the Russian hybrid and produces a similar type tuber. This is likely a short season seedling population that was grown for its tubers. The white clustering tubers are high yielding. These look very much like high yielding selections with multibranched rooting systems and thick strings of tubers.
