This German selection is one of the best mild flavored sunchokes we have grown plus it has smooth easy to clean yellow skin. Tubers run from 4-8 ounces each with very good clumping near the main stems making them easy to harvest. It is interesting that the German selections are generally a 'better' sunchoke in terms of flavor and culture. And it was all developed in a land where potatoes are king much like the U.S. For us Big Bertha does not produce a lot of tubers but instead produces very large tubers just like Gigant does. More practical to grow as the tubers are easier to harvest.
(Ships dormant in spring and fall from Oct. to Dec.and again March to May.)If sold out in the spring or there is a short crop , your order will automatically fall ship in October.
