Brilliance Plum Seeds and Scions: Red and violet colored plums are produced in great profusion on a small compact upright tree with super clean big foliage. This spur producing variety is heavy
producing. The fruit ripens starting in the first week of September and is pretty much finished by the end of the month. It is best to leave the fruit on the tree on the tree as long as possible as the flavor greatly improves making it possible to easily enjoy the sweet fruit with a lightly tart skin. One of the best plums at my farm for eating fresh off the tree. The
fruit is always clean and does not require spray. The plant has more of a beach plum characteristic to it and it may be a hybrid of Chickasaw and beach plum.
This is also one of the most productive of all plums at my farm and is worthy growing for its delicious fruit perfect for growing in the northeastern and midwestern U.S.
TO GERMINATE THE SEEDS; Seeds are easy to germinate. Add a lightly moist Canadian peat moss and store refrigerated from 33F to 38F for 90-120 days. After the cold dormancy and take out and put at room temperature. Seeds will begin sprouting within 1 to 3 weeks. Some seeds may sprout after the second dormancy and may require an additional warm and cold period. Seeds are rarely doubly dormant but most species of Prunus have this double dormancy in a portion of their seeds.
