   Selections For Clonal Reproduction by Grafting 

Scionwood and cuttings are available once a year from the Oikos Tree Crops collection of tree and shrub crops.

You can order any of the selection(s) from this one easy product even if the seeds are not available. This allows you to grow the named variety without ordering  seeds and make selections of your choice. The scions are cut in February and early March and shipped immediately wrapped in a moist paper towel.  Everything is shipped Priority Mail via USPS within the United States.The cuttings are done fully dormant without soil or leaves. Scions are cut from selections bred only at my farm and no where else. These are individual named selections and not from a random group or population of plants. 

The scion packages contain 2-4 cuttings-scions per varietal selection. Each varietal selection is a named selection on the Oikos Tree Crops website.  For instance:  "Tango" American persimmon or "Kelly Renee" apple. See the options below. It is your choice of varieties. 

1. Scion Package 1   Pick any 2 varietal selections.
2. Scion Package 2   Pick any 4 varietal selections.
3. Scion Package 3   Pick any 8 varietal selections.

When you place your order, please include in the comments at the end of your order or send a separate email on what selections you want.  Each named variety you see on this website is open to scionwood and/or cuttings. 

There are no numbered selections at the farm or codes to order the varieties. They are not patented and or restricted in some way to release to the public. The named varieties on this website are only Oikos Tree Crop selections. The details of origin are found within the description or specifications on each variety. A very few were done by other growers who produced the original seed stock or found a seedling somewhere. Their names are also highlighted.  Starting in 2021 after closing the nursery more named selections were created due to time I had to do further evaluations of the seedling trees. I selected the best out of those populations for naming and clonal reproduction where an orchard crop would be an added advantage to a grower. 

Just a note: As of 2026, there is no nursery, commercial agroforestry association or educational institution that has expressed interest in any of the tree or shrub crops on this website. To this day everything is done on an individual level. This is the same since the time of John Hershey (1920's) who had the first tree crop farm and nursery in the United States. 

Purchasing these scions helps me keep the farm in perpetuity  as well as improve on what I currently have. It also further solidifies the collection by distributing it on a clonal level to other locations throughout the United States.  Thank you. I could not do it without your support.
