The Oikos Tree Crops plantings contain roughly 500 species from around the world. It is on 13 acres of rolling hills. The paths and roads will take you through my farm. It is roughly a half mile walk.  (This is a walking tour not a tractor ride tour.)  The focus of the farm is on healthy fruits without spray and wild forms of the cultivated plants. It also contains several rare from seed plants too. The  farm is used specifically for seed collection and is an integral part of creating the seedlings the nursery sold starting in the mid 1980's. It is a mix of many species of plants all grown together as a form of self regeneration agroforestry model.  All of the planted trees are of  known origin including arboreteum cultivation and wild plants found in Michigan and the United States.  The focus is on food plants irrespective of origin.
