STARTING AUGUST 2026. Farm tours are currently in limbo again due to renovations and clean up from the nursery era. Plans are currently scheduled to be open in August of 2026. Weekends and days during the weeks will be available.
The Oikos Tree Crops plant repository includes over a thousand different types of trees, shrubs and perennials of roughly 500 species from around the world. It is on 13 acres and will take roughly an hour and a half to do the tour. (This is a walking tour not a tractor ride tour.) The focus of the farm is on healthy fruits without spray and wild forms of the cultivated plants we enjoy today all grown from seed from around the world. The goal of this tour is to allow you to see mature specimens as well as taste test a few of the fruiting specimens in season. This part of the farm is used specifically for seed collection and is an integral part of creating the seedlings the nursery sold starting in the mid 1980's. It is a mix of many species of plants all grown together as a form of self regeneration agroforestry model. All of the planted trees are of known origin including arboreteum cultivation and wild plants found in Michigan and the United States. The farm contains a large diverse plantings for the main purpose of seed regeneration. This is easy to experience on a tour.
Tour of My Farm Per Person $20.00 Time: 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Includes sampling fruit in season. Walking tour led by Ken Asmus. Wear appropriate foot wear and long pants. There are mowed pathways and trails here and there but expect a little brush here and there. It can get crowded. This is a guided tour to let you experience and enjoy different flavors not found today in both wild and cultivated agriculture.
No shipping is charged. Tax is included in the price. Students are free. Children are free. Negotiable price if you feel you need it for whatever reason.
No seed purchases are available for pick up at the time of the tour.
Wooden tables grown by Ken are available for pick up should you want to leave with a work of art that will last a lifetime.
