Select white oak 9 inch wide planks made from the original prop table used at the farm for plant propagation. Milled from a tree in Van Buren County done by a sawmill
just down the road from the farm. The planks were milled to remove most of the old
finish with an attempt to keep the scratches and a few of the blemishes of the
normal wear and tear during propagation. If the wood could talk you would hear many stories told during the long summer hours of the past while making plants.
New hardware was added along with rust resistant screws. All new legs and frames. Made from a single table cut in half. Prop tables 5 and 6.
Finish is Marine Spar Polyurethane. 3 coats.
Legs are solid hickory
with a honeylocust and beech frame with cedar. Cork on leg bottoms for easy sliding and prevent moisture from wicking upwards.
SIZE 63 inches by 54 inches 30 inch height.
White Oak top. Hickory legs. Honeylocust, beech and cedar frame.
A propagation table is meant for heavy loads of lightly moist soil mixes left on 24-7 for several months of the year. Technically a work table, it accomodates soil and is easily cleaned afterwards. (Hence the glossy finish.)
